大型经典越剧《西厢记》即将登陆新加坡戏剧中心剧院
2025年10月4日，新加坡三江梨园社将于新加坡戏剧中心剧院，为观众带来一场充满诗意与韵味的文化盛宴——经典越剧《西厢记》。本次演出特别邀请中国国家一级演员、徐派小生代表性传承人周燕倾情献演，新加坡资深导演张莉执导，为大家呈现这一跨越时代的爱情经典。
越剧作为中国最具代表性的传统戏曲之一，以其婉转动听的唱腔和细腻优美的表演艺术著称。而《西厢记》更是越剧中的经典之作，讲述了崔莺莺与张生冲破世俗阻碍、勇敢追求爱情的动人故事。剧中那句“隔墙花影动，疑是玉人来”，更成为千百年来爱情的美好象征。

The Classic Yue Opera “The Romance of the Western Chamber” is Coming to the Singapore Drama Centre Theatre
On October 4, 2025, Sam Kiang Chinese Opera will present a poetic and culturally rich performance of the classic Yue Opera, The Romance of the Western Chamber, at the Singapore Drama Centre Theatre.
Yue Opera, one of China’s most iconic traditional art forms, is celebrated for its melodious singing and intricate, graceful performances. Among its repertoire, The Romance of the Western Chamber stands out as a classic, recounting the touching story of Cui Yingying and Zhang Sheng, who courageously defy societal conventions in pursuit of true love. The line “The shadows of flowers move beyond the wall; I wonder if it is my beloved approaching” has become a lasting symbol of romance through the ages.
For this production, director Zhang Li and her team have meticulously crafted a refined script, professional grand-theatre-style music, stylish stage design, lighting effects, and elegant costumes, merging tradition with modernity and blending classic charm with innovative artistry. Zhou Yan’s portrayal of Zhang Sheng, with her handsome stage presence and delicate acting, is a shining example of the Xu school’s artistry, winning over countless audiences. Together with the talented casts of Sam Kiang Chinese Opera, they promise an emotional and artistic feast for all.
